Doctor Reverend David W. Lisner

Dave and Meri Lisner were married on May 22, 1993 and have two adult sons Jacob and Zachary.

Pastor Dave graduated from Susquehanna University in 1989 with a B.S. in Business Administration and Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS) in 2000 with a ThM. in Pastoral Studies.  He completed his doctorate of ministry from DTS in 2012. Dave has been the pastor of Newport Baptist Church since the spring of 2000.  He enjoys mountain biking, trout fishing and hunting grouse with his dog, Max.

Meri graduated from Wheaton College with a B.A. in Psychology. 

Currently, she is a behavior specialist at the Newport City Elementary School.  Meri enjoys quilting, baking, and spending time with her family.

The Lisners love to spend time with one another in the outdoors, camping and playing Bridge.

Tom and Janice Ward

Over the past five years Tom and Janice Ward have led Kids Club at Newport Baptist Church.  The Wards bring a compassion for children and years of experience to our youth ministries.  Tom and Janice home schooled their own children and posses a unique capacity to connect and bring Bible studies to life.  

Bruce Penfield 

Bruce Penfield wears a number of hats at Newport Baptist: custodian, trustee, worship leader, and youth group worker.  His father maintained a church in Connecticut for decades until his homegoing.  Today, Bruce has followed in his paternal footsteps and keeps our church and grounds in fantastic shape! 

PS Bruce's wife, Nancy, is the church secretary and plays the congas for one of our worship teams.
